Summary Resume:

After I graduated from UCLA in marketing & advertising I served in the Peace Corps
as a 2-year volunteer in the Dominican Republic. I began my marketing career in Helsinki,
Finland at Minosyutama, a Finnish marketing company as a creative consultant and later
with Richard K. Manoff in New York City as an Art Director.  I then worked as a Creative
Supervisor at Bloom Advertising and The Richards Group in Dallas, Texas.

For the last 25 years I have been a principal in my own businesses. I began in 1972 by
joining Ed Rose to form Rose & Stone, Inc. of Santa Ana, CA where we developed a 12-person
agency that was half consumer and half high-tech. Ed retired to Oregon and I started
Douglas Stone & Associates as an Advertising/Design firm where we employed 6 office/account staff.

In 1980 I merged with Tom Gillen and formed Gillen Stone, Inc. of Newport Beach. We
developed a thriving consumer and direct response that employed 55 persons until 1984
when Tom died of cancer. After Tom's death I formed Douglas Stone + Partners with
Ed Lohnes until 1993 when I moved to New Mexico to escape the "Orange County Crush" then,
on to La Quinta, CA and finally Anthem, AZ.

The legacy of these firms is their almost endless list of principals and employees that
populate many well-know Southland companies. I have guided or directed dozens of
companies in their marketing, advertising and promotional efforts with hands-on responsibility
in every phase of their business as well as running my own companies for many years.

In each of these firms, my responsibility was to manage the "business" affairs (accounting,
billing, employees relations, etc.) of the company and function as the Creative Director and
Account Services Supervisor.
